Find where AI may be creating exposure in your organisation, learn what to look for and decide what deserves attention first.

You may have more AI in your organisation than you think.

AI can sit inside recruitment systems, customer tools, workplace software, content creation and third-party products your teams use every day.

This practical course helps you investigate where AI is being used, ask better questions about the risks it may create and make reasonable decisions about what needs attention.

You'll work through realistic business situations before applying the learning to your own organisation. We provide the CKC Cares AI Risk Map as a practical starting point. You can use it as provided, adapt it to your organisation, or take what you find into the risk and governance processes you already use.

The goal is to strengthen critical skills in finding, questioning and prioritising AI risk for yourself.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

1. Recognise where AI may be present across everyday organisational tools, workflows and decisions.
2. Investigate how an AI use works in practice, including what it does, who uses it, what information it handles and who may be affected.
3. Question assumptions about human oversight, third-party systems and previously approved technology.
4. Work with uncertainty by identifying what you know, what you don't know and what needs further investigation.
5. Distinguish internal risk prioritisation from legal or regulatory classification.
6. Prioritise AI-related concerns based on the circumstances rather than treating every use as equally risky.
7. Recognise the limits of an initial risk review and identify when specialist assessment may be needed.
8. Apply these skills to your own organisation using a practical AI Risk Map or alongside the governance approach your organisation already uses.

What You'll Leave With

Your own organisational AI Risk Map

You'll use the CKC Cares template during the course to turn what you've learned into something practical. It gives you a structured starting point for recording AI use, uncertainty, potential exposure and priorities.

Your organisation may already use NIST guidance, an ISO management system, an enterprise risk framework or its own governance process. You don't need to replace any of that. Adapt the Risk Map where useful or take its findings into the systems you already use.
